Go to the other one, the food is better and the people are nicer. Absolutely rude service and not worth it. You shouldn’t be in customer service if you’re gonna treat people that way. Not only was she yelling at and being disrespectful to customers, she was yelling at the workers in front of everyone. kinda seemed like a manager to me which is even more sad. I didn’t catch her name, but she was older with blonde hair in a ponytail and a hat. So my husband politely asked for a regular cup, and the lady yelled at him. Then we noticed over FOUR people come in and get regular cups. I asked for an orange juice, and they gave me a little kids cup and said I’d have to keep coming back up to refill it because they were out of cups!! The place was packed so there was no way I could keep going up there for a refill. Definitely do not recommend this place at all!! This was our first time there and we won’t be coming back. I never really leave reviews that’s how you know my experience was awful. Such a sad experience for a family owned operation that just should have been a great memory with my family! … more When you order your drink be sure to get something that will last you all of breakfast because you will not get a refill. Also, make sure you bring cash for tip otherwise you pay tip on your card to whom I’m still not sure. When my food came the waiter had to bring the manager to Rudely try and solve her own problem when there wasn’t even a big deal made in the first place. While I was not aware that they were asked if they wanted eggs I was pushed along to pay. When you come in be prepared to know exactly what you want and memorize it! If you do not know the lady at the register will be sure to call the next person in line even if you were just finishing up ordering your drink that her employee is taking his time making! When you read the menu be sure to list off every little item that’s in your choice or else you just won’t get it or be asked if you would like it! I ordered the same item as 2 other people in my party. Stackem High in Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills either location is great. Let me start with the food was really good! Unfortunately we will not be back because the service was very unexpected. Freshness is the hallmark of dining on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and. My family owns a small business of our own so supporting another one is always our goal. Perhaps you need practice in expressing your views as qualified opinions and not immutable facts.Īlso, your opinion that Virginia isn't a southern state is risible. The experience was not what I was hoping for. However petty it seems to keep repeating it, you are demonstrably mistaken on that point. This is about your emphatic statement that scrapple isn't served in the south b/c it's not a southern thing. This isn't about me having the only discussable "opinion" or you targeting me. Sorry if you thought my replies were meant to be a definitive view point or specifically targeted you. I'm not sure why you think yours is the only one that should be discussed. So, you're aloud to disagree, but I'm not? Discussions are all about different view points. My god this forum is an insular little clubhouse. Otherwise I concede to your obvious cultural superiority about everything NE NC and specifically the Outer Banks. Smithfield established itself there in the 1930s. Pork, including the ubiquitous frying of the grossest residual parts called scrapple, has been a mainstay industry in VA for a couple hundred years. Virginia, historically, is not southern? YBMFKM. I lived in Fredericksburg Va for 20 years and every place served it - I did not eat it but it was there everywhere. There's a lot of people moving to NC from the NE, so I'm sure some of the food will move as well. Growing up in NC, I know I'm alone in that thinking. I've never heard of it being a Virginia thing (never heard of it until I moved to the Philly area), but, and I know I'm going to probably piss some people off, I don't consider Virginia southern. Location: Jamison, PA - Carolina in my mind There are places in greater metro Elizabeth City (irony) that serve scrapple, none that I'd recommend for anything up to and including their scrapple.įor the record, if you couldn't tell, I am not a scrapple fan. Pots On N' Kitchen in Harbinger (RIP Pots On) had scrapple on their menu. Scrapple is definitely a Virginia thing so I disagree that it's not a southern thing. You can't get a good cheese steak in NC, so don't even try. You just can't get good BBQ up here in the Philly area, so don't even try. Your hometown food probably won't be as good somewhere else. I guess there's more and more NE people coming down, but do you really want something you have all the time when visiting another area? I always try to eat what's local where ever I go. More to the point, why would they serve scrapple in the south? It's not a southern thing at all. Posted By: Kay-Gene Cottages - ( Send PM)
